Easter

Growing up we always did the "fun" Easter things on Saturday. I liked that a lot! I think we did that last year and I hope that we will do it in the future. I love that it leaves Sunday to concentrate on the real meaning of Easter. I am grateful for Christ's resurrection and the sacrifices he has made for me.
This Easter was a little off since we were on our way home from Utah until late Saturday night. However, the Easter Bunny still managed to make it to our house, thanks to Tyler! We all got an Easter basket and Addy even got Tangled in hers! Tyler and I definitely enjoyed that part! Addy has been asking for "eggs" ever since Sunday. I try to give her only one a day. I also try to get her to say please before giving it to her... that's not happening! We're working on it. It's so fun to see Addy get so much joy out of the Holidays as she gets older!

Enjoying the spoils of her Easter Basket.

Look at the excitement on her face!

She seems a little surprised...

Utah and Family!

Last week Addy and I had the last minute opportunity to go to Utah to visit my family! I am so glad that things worked out so that we could go. Here's the story: When we were in Hermiston for Spring Break my mother in-law mentioned that she was driving down to Utah in 2 weeks from Friday to Friday! The wheels started spinning and I asked if she would mind if me and Addy joined her. She didn't! However, Tyler and I could not figure out a way for me to get to Hermiston to be able to go. Tyler needed the car and understandably did not want to drive 6 hours after being in school ALL day. As it got closer I started looking at train and bus routes to Hermiston to see how it could work out. I got my shifts covered at work. Wednesday (2 days before my mother in-law intended to leave) Tyler came home from school and said "Do you still want to go to Utah?!" I of course said yes! and he said okay! I couldn't believe it! His patient had canceled for Thursday afternoon and he was willing to drive me to Hermiston so I could go! Thank you cancellation patient! I was so excited! I was so grateful to Tyler for being so willing to sacrifice 6 hours just so I could go see my family! I love him! I called my mom and asked her if she would like to see Addy and Me on Friday, she said "this Friday!??" and I said yes. She was shocked!
So, Susie and I left at 7 am on Friday and drove to Utah. Addy was sooo sooo sooo good! I am so glad! She was kept busy with snacks, puzzles, shows, and books. Just when she would start to get a tiny bit crabby I would tell her "night, night" and she would take a nap! How did I get so lucky?! I have no idea! I love her for being so good! I'm sure it made Susie not regret taking us a long for the ride!
Utah was so fun! It was so nice to be with my family! I haven't seen them since Christmas and was missing them.
We played games, hung out, watched tv, took pictures, talked, shopped, went to the park, played with the kitties and doggie, and just had fun! It was nice to see my sisters and brothers and get to know them a little bit better. Also, my sister in-law Camilla was there visiting her family and I got to see her and my little niece, Kennedy, for the first time! She's so cute! I'm so glad I got to see her when she was still somewhat tiny! Can't wait until her and Addy can be best friends!
Addy LOVED all the attention she got from her Aunts and Uncles. She's a little spoiled being the only niece/granddaughter on my side of the family!

Updated Pics of Addy's Room

With the new bed came a little bit of rearranging. We FINALLY got a garage so we could move everything that was in Addy's closet into the garage and have somewhere to store the crib and mattress. I bought the bedding a while ago and am so glad I did! I love it! It's girly, but not super babyish. I repainted her wall (it used to be purple) so it would match the new bedding and got some new wall decor. I love how it turned out! And I love her bed! It has drawers underneath which now hold all her clothes! Yeah!

I think I might be a little bit more excited than she is! ;)

Such a Big Girl!

We have officially transferred Addy to a big girl bed! I think she loves it! I was not worried at all about the transition because she loves her sleep so much that we could make a pile of blankets on the floor and that's where she would sleep. Last night was the first night! We put her down and she said "night, night" and laid her head on the pillow. After about an hour we went in to check on her and we found her on the floor next to her bed! No, she did not fall out! I think she thought the floor was more comfortable. Who knows?! Tyler put her back in bed where she stayed until 5:30. We heard a little hand turning her doorknob. I jumped up and helped her find her binky (which is why she got up) and put her back in bed. She went right back to sleep! She's so great! I think that's a problem we might have... her binky falls on the floor quite easily and then she can't find it.

When we got home from work today she took off her coat and shoes and got in bed all by herself. I walked in after her and she turns to me and says "Addy's bed! Nap. Night Night" and went to bed. She looked so big in her tiny crib, but now she looks so little in her big bed!

22 Months!

I have no idea where the time has gone! Addy is such a little girl, no longer a baby in my eyes. Kind of sad... She's learning so much and she makes me laugh ALL the time. She pulls the silliest faces and picks up the weirdest mannerisms.

~Knows all her colors except brown.
~Can count to 12 now!
~She can read her name. (I spell out for her and ask her "what's this say?" and she says "ADDY!")
~She's starting to get very particular about what clothes and shoes she's wearing.
~I taught her to wink a few weeks ago.
~Loves to play with her friends and at the J.
~She loves going outside, even if it's just out on the deck.
~Sings her ABC's to herself ALL day long!

She dressed herself like this!

While we were in Hermiston last week it was 72 degrees! We couldn't pass up the chance to go outside and soak up the sun on that white baby skin!

She was laying in here singing her ABC's to herself.

Using my dufflebag as a pillow while watching "Street".

We love this little girl so much! We're so grateful that she is in our home! She's automatic/cheap entertainment! :)
