Helloooo Seattle!

Day 1

We arrived in Seattle Saturday afternoon, after encountering snow along the way! We headed straight to the Zoo. Of course, it rained almost the whole time. The sun decided to show through the clouds for our last 5 minutes! We're so lucky! After walking a ton we decided to check into our hotel and take a nap. After a wonderful, peaceful nap we made the trek downtown to eat at a little place called Il Bistro on Pike Street. Very good! I would recommend it if you're ever in the area. We walked around downtown for a bit and then headed back to our hotel room! Great first day! Also, if you ever plan to go to Seattle I HIGHLY recommend getting a hotel that has free parking and continental breakfast. This saved us a lot of money! We were able to walk pretty much everywhere and didn't have to waste our money on $12.00/hr parking fees. If you have not heard of the CityPass you should look it up if you ever go to Seattle! It's super cheap and that's how we got to do all the cool things that we did!







The Apes were pretty fun to watch. First, there was one guy that was eating and proceeded to regurgitate his food into a pile in his hand and eat again being sure to lick his fingers! He did this a few times. It was disgusting. We also saw a mama ape nursing her baby. How sweet!


Day 2

We started the day by going to the top of the Space Needle. Super cool view! We could see everything... including our hotel! It was a little cold and rainy, but still cool! The elevator ride to the top of the 600 foot above ground observation deck was only 43 seconds! Wow! It was over before we knew it!








After our trip to the top we proceeded to wait in line to enter the Pacific Science Center. It was pretty busy! Lots of kids! The science center was fun, but it was geared more towards younger kids, so we browsed through everything pretty fast! We told secrets to each other through big dishes that were halfway across the room, sat in over-sized chairs, and watched an I-Max film about Tahiti.









Day 3

We walked down to the water front to visit many sites. It was a nice walk and we enjoyed seeing a little bit more of Seattle a long the way. Our first stop was the Aquarium. There were a lot of sea life and it was cool to see. Again, geared a little bit more to kids, but that's to be expected. The aquarium is on a pier, so they are able to pump sea water directly from the ocean into the aquarium. Pretty cool! We also got to pet sea stars and sea urchins.











After the aquarium we went to lunch at Ivar's. It's right on the water and we had a gorgeous view! Also, the best clam chowder I've had! Tyler had a good smoked salmon chowder as well!






After filling our bellies with sea food we walked around for a little while and then went on a Argosy Harbor Cruise! This was our favorite activity of the trip! We learned a lot about Seattle and saw a lot of cool things! The view of the Skyline from the boat was great!










After the cruise we proceeded up the stairs to the famous Pike's Place. We browsed the shops and talked about why people would actually buy any of the junk that was there! It just wasn't for us. We did buy some vibrant flowers! Very pretty! After our short walk along Pike's Place we headed to the monorail to get a ride back to the Seattle Center.








Later that night we went back up to the top of the Space Needle to see the view at night. It was pretty! It was cool to see the city all lit up at night!




Day 4

Our last day! We went to the Experience Music Project. We jammed on the keyboard and drums together and saw a super cool instrument sculpture that actually played music! The outside of the building is super cool! The whole building itself has no 90 degree angles!






We had a great vacation! A much needed break from school and work. It was nice to celebrate our 3rd anniversary in a new city! We were of course happy to get home to Addy when it was all over. I missed her... just a little bit. haha Addy had a blast with her Nana and Papa B and Ellie and Sasha (the dogs). I don't think she even realized we were gone.
