21 inches... really?

Addelyn had her 2 week checkup on Tuesday. I cannot believe it has already been two weeks! It is going so fast! She is doing so well. A very healthy and happy baby! Here are her stats:
Weight: 8 lbs 8 oz 65th percentile
Height: 21* in 75th percentile
Head: 14.4 in 60th percentile

*When she was born they measured her at 21 1/2 inches long. I told her pediatrician this and so she measured her again to be sure that she hadn't messed up. She was right... 21 inches. So, the nurse at the hospital didn't measure quite right. Oh well.

I can tell Addy is getting chubbier. It's pretty cute. She's not super skinny anymore like when she was born. I love holding her while she's sleeping. She is such a great cuddler! We sure love our little girl!

A Tribute to the Best New Daddy!

Yesterday we celebrated Tyler's first Father's Day! Addy got him a card and some new shirts for father's day. She even signed her name in the card! Our friends had a barbeque to celebrate fathers and we had a blast hanging out with them. Tyler is a great daddy to Addelyn. He changes her messy diapers, even though she poops on him, talks to her, lets her watch TV with him, and stays home from school because "Addelyn told him she wants him to". She already has him wrapped around her tiny finger. I love watching him interact with her, it's adorable!

I love these 2 so much!

Introducing Addelyn Nicole Bendixsen

We are so happy to announce that Addelyn was born on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. She was 8 lbs 3 oz and 21 1/2 inches long! She has so much hair and we love her so much! I was induced on Tuesday morning at about 2:30 in the afternoon. They broke my water at 5:30, I took a long nap, woke up and was dilated to a 10! She was ready to come out. After an hour of pushing the doctor told me to reach down and grab her and she was in my arms seconds later. I got to hold her for about an hour before they cleaned her up. It was an incredible experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

We were in the hospital until Thursday at noon when we got to bring her home! She is such a good baby and has been so cute! She gets cuter and cuter everyday. I feel like she has grown a ton since we brought her home!

It is so fun to dress her up! I am surprised at how alert she is for a new baby. I feel like she isn't really a newborn anymore. She has changed so much! We have taken so many pictures of her. She has so many facial expressions already! We haven't been able to catch too many of them on camera because she doesn't like to show off for it very much.

We love her so much and are so excited for this new addition to our family. It will be fun to watch her grow and she her little personality develop.

Exciting times!!

I had my weekly doctor appointment today! And I have some great news! Little Addelyn is about 7 pounds 3 ounces. She is still in the 50th percentile and growing right along schedule. We got some more cute ultrasound pictures. A couple 3-D ones, which I usually don't like, but I thought it was so neat to see her face and hands and everything! A couple times during the ultrasound she opened her mouth and that was really neat to see! Anyway... back to the exciting news! I am still 90% effaced, dilated to a 2 now, and her head is between 0 and +1... meaning that it is starting its way out of the birth canal! Wow! I have a little extra amniotic fluid... nothing to be concerned about though. My doctor told me that if by next appointment I have not gone into labor that he wants to induce me next Tuesday (the 9th) or Wednesday the (10th)!!! That means that this time next week I could possibly be in labor! And we will have a baby next week! I am so excited, I can hardly wait!

We LOVE the Sun!

Much to my enjoyment Portland is not nearly as rainy as I had expected. And it even gets warm here! That's right... it's been in the 80's for the past week and we have been loving it! I often go down to the pool at our complex to work on the little tan that I will be able to get this summer. It has been wonderful! Saturday we had our friends over so the guys could have a rematch in Watermelon Ball (a game played in the pool with a watermelon... kind of like football). The girls of course were glad to oblige because, let's be honest, who would pass up the chance to soak up the sun?!

Disclaimer: I stole these pictures from Megan's blog, so if you already read hers, there is nothing new. Sorry! And thanks Megan! :)

The game ends when the Watermelon cracks or breaks open! This time it only cracked... luckily! Everyone got to enjoy watermelon and otter pops once the boys were done!
